Mediation Information & Assessment Meetings (MIAMs)
The MIAM is a meeting that became part of law in April 2014, you will need to attend a MIAM if you wish to make an application to court.
It is an encouragement by the courts to promote resolution of your differences without the need to take the matter to court.
I will help you to look at the options that are available to you.
I will explain how mediation works.
I will answer your questions about mediation.
I will help you to consider the benefits of mediation.
The meeting will last approximately 45 minutes.
If at the end of the meeting it is decided that your case is not suitable for mediation, I will sign the court forms to show that you have participated in a MIAM. This will then allow you to submit an application to court.
